BY LAWS

ARTICLE I
NAME
The name of the organization shall be Magnolia Classic Cruisers Association of Jackson County, MS
ARTICLE II
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
A. PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Magnolia Classic Cruisers (MCC) is to promote and foster automotive interest as a hobby.
B. OBJECTIVES:
1. To promote interest in the preservation of special interest automobiles used as
Cruisers and exchange ideas with other members.
2. To create good Fellowship and Sportsmanship among all members of the club
3. To offer and sponsor opportunities for the members to exhibit and/or participate in meetings, cruise-ins, car shows and parades.
4. To promote safety in driving, automobile maintenance and overall vehicle operation
ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP/DUES
A. QUALIFICATIONS
1. Anyone interested in special interest automobiles is eligible for membership
2. Prospective members must be sponsored by a MCC member.
3. The sponsor will introduce the prospective member to MCC members
4. After a Membership Committee has recommended a person, the new member will be subject to a majority vote of the membership present.
5. The Executive Council (officers of MCC) will meet as needed to consider new members. Sponsor of a prospective member shall attend the membership committee meeting to answer any questions about the prospective member’s background and intentions. The committee will then make recommendations about prospective members at the next regular club meeting.
6. Each couple will have 2 votes.
7. All members must hold a valid drivers license and show proof of insurance on their automobile(s).
8. The required initiation fee of $25.00 and dues of $20.00 must be paid at the following meeting for membership to be final. Dues will be prorated quarterly if a new member joins after initial membership drive is over.
9. The membership ceiling shall be unlimited.
10. Charter members will be members that were present and joined at the planning meeting of MCC.
B. DUES
1. MCC membership year will run from January 1 to December 31.
2. Yearly dues will be due 1st meeting of the year.
3. Dues are $20.00 per couple, $20.00 single.
4. Dues will be considered delinquent after 60 days (March 1).
5. Non-paid members will be notified and removed from Membership.
ARTICLE IV
OFFICERS
A. OFFICERS
1. There shall be seven elected officers and five elected Board of Directors. Officers of MCC shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Sergeant at Arms and Website Official. Vice President will serve as Chairperson to the Board, and will not vote except to break a tie vote.
PRESIDENT shall be responsible for conducting all meetings of MCC, appointing Chairpersons for Committees, and act as representative for the club in the Community. The President shall also be responsible for installing new officers, conducting all membership and initiation ceremonies, serve as Chairman of the Executive Council, and sign all club checks. The President shall remain in advisory capacity for one year after his/her term, providing they remain active in the club. MCC will maintain a local Post Office Box which the President will be responsible.
VICE PRESIDENT shall preside in the absence of the President.
Countersign all club checks in President’s absence.
SECRETARY shall be responsible for preparing the club minutes of each
Meeting. Preparing and maintaining accurate list of members --Address,
Phone numbers and email address.
TREASURER shall be responsible for accounting for all money of the
MCC, shall issue checks for expenses after being approved, depositing all
money in the account and preparing a monthly treasurer report, and
countersign all MCC checks.
SERGEANT AT ARMS shall be responsible for maintaining control during
Meetings, and at any other functions.
HISTORIAN shall maintain MCC scrapbook with photographs and a
written account of club events.
WEBSITE OFFICIAL shall oversee official website for MCC consisting of
updating MCC car photos, current Car Show Posters, and Events.
2. The following will not act in the capacity of an Officer or Board Member but only in the capacity listed.
a. CRUISE IN CHAIRMAN
Will be elected during the January regular club meeting to coordinate the planning and execution of Cruise Ins. Will not be a voting member of the Executive council, but will attend Executive Council meetings as they pertain
To the Cruise In activities. Will establish committees and assign duties to insure that each club member is actively involved in the Cruise In
b. CRUISE IN CO-CHAIRMAN – APPOINTED BY THE CRUISE IN CHAIRMAN
Assist Cruise In Chairman in all activities of the Cruise In. Perform all duties
Of the Cruise In Chairman in his/her absence.
ARTICLE V
ELECTION/DUTIES OF CLUB OFFICERS
A. ELECTIONS
1. Nominations shall take place at the first business meeting in October
2. Elections shall take place at the first business meeting in November
3. New Officers will take over first business meeting in January
4. The term of office shall be for one year and shall begin at the first business
meeting in January
5. In the event that the President shall vacate office during his/her term, the Vice
President shall serve as President for the remainder of that term of office.
6. All nominees for any office shall be an active member in good standing and must be
present for nominations
7. Nominations must be made from the floor by a member and seconded by a member
8. The election shall be subject to a majority vote
9. Sergeant-at-Arms will supervise the election activities and select a committee of three
to count votes.
10. Regular meetings for MCC will be held on the first Monday of each month unless
changed by a majority vote of members in good standing.
11. Members are expected to attend at least 50% of all regular meetings.
12. If a member of the Executive Council (except for President) for some reason is
forced to decline his/her position, at the next regular business meeting a new officer
shall be elected according to the rules set forth in the preceding Sections of this
Article.
B. DUTIES
1. The Board of Directors is empowered to make decisions concerning MCC,
and then bring before MCC membership for approval.
Duties shall be as follows:
a) Select charity in Jan/Feb for the year to be advertised for fund raising and
car show events
b) Prepare estimated/itemized budget for the year
c) Assist officers with any club issues
d) Work to resolve any issues that may arise between members & officers
e) Assure that all club insurance, licenses, state and federal registrations are in
order and current
f) Responsible for execution of the by-laws and policies approved by the
membership
g) Request for fundraising or charity events shall be submitted to the Board of
Directors in writing 30 days prior to the event. Recommendation from the
Board will be submitted to general membership at following club meeting.
ARTICLE VI
MOVING CLUB
1. THE MAGNOLIA CLASSIC CRUISERS ASSOCIATION OF JACKSON COUNTY, MS CANNOT BE MOVED OUT OF JACKSON COUNTY, MS
WITHOUT THE MAJORITY APPROVAL OF ALL CHARTER MEMBERS REMAINING.
ARTICLE VII
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE MCC SHALL BE ADOPTED AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE PROPER CONDUCT OF ITS WORK. ANY AND SUCH RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THESE BY LAWS.
ARTICLE VIII
PROCEDURES FOR DISPOSING MCC PROPERTY
1. Disposing of MCC property shall be sold and proceeds to be given to local charities.
The proceeds will be divided equally among the selected charities that the MCC
Membership has approved.
2. Members in good standing will have first choice on all equipment owned. All
Equipment will be sold at a fair market value.
